A Riotous Whizz Through 100 Years Of Jazz

For Schools

Our internationally acclaimed show '100 Years of Jazz in 99 Minutes' is now available as an educational workshop and concert for schools - an ideal introduction to jazz for children of all ages.

"Every era is evoked with complete conviction, during the musical equivalent of the Reduced Shakespeare Company, in which none of the major musical soliloquies gets left out."  Alyn Shipton, Radio 3, The Times

Presented by six of the best jazz musicians in the world today, with all the music true to the style of each period and successfully recreating the excitement of jazz when it was new and revolutionary. The programme is packed with interesting facts about jazz history and its most famous personalities, all delivered in an entertaining and humorous way and guaranteed to captivate and inspire young and old alike.

Available in two formats - Educational Concert or Workshop & Concert:

WORKSHOPS

Workshops suitable either for students with some experience of jazz or for those just starting out and wanting to be introduced to this fascinating art form, can be booked with or independent of the show.  Wherever possible we aim to involve students in the post-workshop concert performance if the two are booked together.

Workshops and group sessions can be arranged using one or more members of the ensemble, depending on budget. All six musicians have experience in music education and are excellent and enthusiastic communicators.

CONCERTS

The full 100 Years Of Jazz show runs in two halves of 45 minutes each but it has also been presented in a truncated version lasting between 45 minutes to an hour.

Six of the world's best jazz musicians and multi-instrumentalists perform on a wide range of instruments (around 20 in all) and explain the changes in jazz styles through the ages in a presentation full of wit and verve.
